Abstract

This research uses the Reason-Narang Rapid approach to examine the squeeze film lubrication of a finite journal bearing while taking heat effect and viscosity change into account. The generalized Reynolds equations are developed before. Load capacity expressions for squeeze film lubricated short and long journal bearings are derived. The load capacity is determined using the Reason-Narang Rapid approach, and the effects of temperature and viscosity fluctuation are numerically examined. Plots of graphs for different parameters are made
